Wright Engineering contacted Evergrip with a requirement for a GRP Grating deck with anti-slip surface to cover the span of a new footbridge designed by Mott MacDonald.
Grating panels with a factory bonded 4mm GRP anti-slip sheet surface were supplied alongside GRP open mesh grating used for drainage covers, along the edges of the walkway.
The bridge itself was an Institution of Civil Engineers Structure Award Winner in 2011.
The new GRP anti-slip grating deck covers the span of the pedestrian bridge, built across an historic defensive ditch and provides for safe access into the visitor site at Fort Amherst, Britain’s largest Napoleonic fortress.
